Parker’s Farm Holiday Park Wedding in Devon
Sally and Richard celebrated their wedding at Parker’s Farm Holiday Park near Newton Abbot surrounded by around 120 family and friends. When I arrived, many of their guests were already there and Richard was there to greet me, which immediately gave the day a warm and welcoming feel. While everyone waited for Sally to arrive, I spent time capturing natural photographs of guests chatting and enjoying the atmosphere before the ceremony began.
A Personal Ceremony
Sally arrived around 45 minutes later with her bridal party and was walked down the aisle by her dad. Richard’s reaction when he first saw her was full of emotion, and it was one of those genuine moments that can never be staged. Making the ceremony even more personal, Sally’s brother took on the role of celebrant for the day, guiding them through the ceremony in a way that felt intimate and completely unique to them as a couple.
Relaxed Portraits and Meaningful Moments
After the ceremony, I organised the confetti throw so their guests could surround them as they walked through together as newlyweds. Once that had finished, I took Sally and Richard, along with their bridesmaids and close family, to a quiet spot in the grounds for their posed photographs. While their guests enjoyed cream tea, it gave the couple a chance to step away from the crowd for a few minutes and enjoy some calm together while I captured a mixture of relaxed and natural portraits.
A Wedding with Personality
The speeches that followed were heartfelt and emotional, with plenty of laughter mixed in throughout the room. As the evening began, Sally and Richard shared their first dance while a live band played, creating a brilliant atmosphere for the rest of the celebration. Later, guests were served hot dogs, burgers and salad, which suited the relaxed feel of the day perfectly. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they had chosen a tiered cheese cake with sauces alongside it, which became a real talking point, while jars of sweets added another thoughtful touch for guests to enjoy.
A Day to Remember
I left at 7pm with the celebrations still in full swing, knowing Sally and Richard had created a wedding that felt true to them from start to finish. It was relaxed, personal and full of genuine moments, making it a real pleasure to photograph.
