Justine & Rob’s Beautiful Coastal Path Wedding in Polperro
Justine and Rob’s wedding day was one of those rare celebrations that felt completely unique to them. Set against the rugged beauty of the South West Coast Path in Polperro, their ceremony blended personal meaning, Cornish charm, and heartfelt emotion from start to finish.
A Relaxed Morning at Kilminorth Cottages
The day began at Kilminorth Cottages, just outside Polperro, where the couple, their family, and close friends had stayed the night before. The atmosphere was calm and full of anticipation as everyone prepared for the day ahead.
This was also where Rob saw Justine for the first time in her medieval‑style purple wedding dress — a moment filled with emotion and excitement. It set the tone for a day that was deeply personal and beautifully unconventional.
Heading Into Polperro
After capturing the morning preparations, I travelled into Polperro village. I met Rob in The Ship Inn in town, having a quick pint before the ceremony.
From there, I made my way to The Rashleigh Inn, where Justine and her bridesmaids were gathering. With her dress flowing and her energy high, she was more than ready to begin the walk toward the ceremony spot. I photographed the journey as we made our way through the village and onto the coastal path.
A Ceremony on the South West Coast Path
Justine had always dreamed of marrying on the South West Coast Path. As a runner, she had completed the route with Rob supporting her every step, so the location held deep meaning for them both.
Polperro has a small weather shelter overlooking the harbour and the sea. When Justine enquired about holding her ceremony there, she was told she could not only use it but also decorate it. She even arranged for it to be freshly painted white for the occasion.
As guests gathered, Justine and her bridesmaids stayed hidden from Rob’s view. Then came one of the most moving moments of the day: the Polperro Wreckers began singing Cornwall My Home to lead her in. Their harmonies drifted across the cliffs, creating a breathtaking entrance.
Capturing the Day – On the Ground and From the Air
Throughout the ceremony, I captured everything from intimate details to sweeping coastal views. Alongside my camera, I also flew the drone to record aerial footage of the ceremony and the confetti throw – a stunning way to show the dramatic coastline and the joy of the moment.
The ceremony itself was led by celebrant Ceremonies by Amanda, who delivered a warm and personal service that suited the setting perfectly.
Celebrations at The Ship Inn
Once the ceremony concluded, everyone made their way back to The Ship Inn for the wedding breakfast. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of celebration as guests enjoyed good food, good company, and a well‑earned drink.
Couple Photos at Polperro Harbour
As the evening settled in, the celebrations continued with music, dancing and that soft summer light fading into dusk. I had brought sparklers and glow sticks for a final moment on the castle steps, and it turned into one of the highlights of the day.
Guests lined the staircase, lighting the path with warm sparkles and glowing colours. Charity and Simon walked through the middle, surrounded by cheers and light. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful day.
A Day Full of Beauty, Warmth and Connection
Later in the afternoon, I whisked Justine and Rob away for around 45 minutes to capture their couple portraits at Polperro Harbour. With fishing boats, narrow lanes, and the soft coastal light, it was the perfect backdrop for natural, romantic images.
