Love is in the air at Bude Castle
Hayley and Trevor’s wedding in Bude was small, relaxed, and full of genuine feeling. With around 20 guests including children, it had an intimate atmosphere that allowed every moment to breathe.
And the weather? Absolutely stunning. Bright, clear and perfect for making the most of everything Bude has to offer.
A ceremony at Bude Castle
The ceremony took place at Bude Castle, a brilliant spot for couples who want something simple but still full of character. Set right by the canal and close to the sea, it offers a unique backdrop without feeling overdone.
From the start, there was a calm and happy energy. No rushing around, no pressure, just a small group of people there to witness something meaningful.
One thing that stood out more than anything was the way Hayley looked at Trevor. Every time she turned towards him, there was this unmistakable “I love you” look. Completely natural, unforced, and impossible to miss. It’s those moments that tell the real story of a wedding day.
Wedding photos around Bude Castle and the canal
After the ceremony, we stayed local for photographs, making the most of the surroundings. The front of Bude Castle gave us a clean, classic backdrop, while the nearby canal added variety and a more relaxed feel.
With the sun out, the light was strong but manageable, and it worked well with the setting. Hayley and Trevor took everything in their stride, enjoying the time together without it feeling staged.
We also captured a few moments outside The Falcon Hotel, tying the whole story of the day together through location.
A relaxed celebration at The Falcon Hotel
The reception took place at The Falcon Hotel, just a short walk away. It was the perfect choice for a smaller wedding like this, keeping everything close and easy.
Inside, the atmosphere stayed consistent with the rest of the day. Laid-back, friendly, and focused on good food and conversation rather than formality.
With a smaller group, everyone had the chance to properly connect, which always creates a better experience for the couple and their guests.
A small Bude wedding done right
Hayley and Trevor’s wedding is a great example of how well a smaller celebration can work. With a ceremony at Bude Castle, photos along the canal, and a reception at The Falcon Hotel, everything flowed naturally from one part of the day to the next.
Add in great weather and genuine moments between the couple, and you have everything you need.
