Bude Does it Again?
Georgia and Jack’s wedding in Bude was one of those days where everything seemed to come together effortlessly. The weather was fantastic, the atmosphere was relaxed, and from start to finish the whole day felt full of energy.
With many guests still in their early twenties, there was a youthful feel to the day that made everything feel even more fun.
Bridal preparations at home
The day began at Georgia’s mum’s house, where I photographed the morning preparations with Georgia, her mum and her three bridesmaids.
The house was full of excitement without feeling chaotic. Hair, makeup, dresses and those final quiet moments before everything begins always tell an important part of the story, and this morning had plenty of those.
With the weather already looking perfect outside, everyone knew it was shaping up to be a brilliant day.
A ceremony at Bude Castle
Once everyone was ready, we made our way to Bude Castle, where I photographed Georgia arriving before the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in the upstairs room overlooking the front garden, giving the whole setting a bright and open feel. It’s a lovely room for smaller weddings and works beautifully for intimate ceremonies.
One of the nicest touches was that the family dog came along too, which made the day feel even more personal.
The moment Georgia walked in, it was clear just how much she and Jack were enjoying every second of it.
Confetti and photos by the canal
After the ceremony, we gathered outside the front of the castle for family photographs and group shots.
The confetti throw took place as Georgia and Jack walked out of the venue, with Bude Castle behind them. It made the perfect backdrop and gave the moment plenty of energy.
Afterwards, the three of us walked down along the canal path for more photographs. Along the way, we were bought an ice cream each, which was a first for me, and the staff from the barge restaurant kindly gifted Georgia and Jack a bottle of wine.
Those unexpected little moments often become some of the most memorable parts of the day.
Couple photographs near Summerleaze Beach
We continued along the canal path towards Summerleaze Beach, where we used the coastline as a backdrop for some relaxed couple portraits.
With the sun out and the sea in the background, everything felt easy. Georgia and Jack were completely comfortable with each other, which made photographing them effortless.
Rather than forcing anything, we simply let the surroundings and the mood of the day do the work.
Reception at The Parkhouse Centre
From there, we headed across to The Parkhouse Centre, directly opposite Bude Castle, where the reception took place.
Food and drinks were served, speeches were shared, and later in the evening Georgia and Jack cut the cake surrounded by family and friends.
Because the couple and many of their guests were younger, the whole reception had a lively and upbeat feel that carried right through the evening.
A fun wedding in the heart of Bude
Georgia and Jack’s wedding was a great example of how well a Bude wedding can work when everything is kept local.
From bridal preparations at home, to a ceremony at Bude Castle, canal photographs and a relaxed reception at The Parkhouse Centre, the whole day flowed naturally.
Add in sunshine, unexpected kindness from strangers and a couple who were clearly enjoying every minute, and it became a wedding that was genuinely fun to be part of.
