A Love Story That Found Its Way Back
Some wedding days carry a little more weight to them. Vanessa and Neil’s was one of those.
Their story isn’t a simple one. They had been married before, built a life together, raised children, and then gone their separate ways. But they never completely lost touch. Life moved on, they both experienced different chapters, and in time, they found their way back to each other.
This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a decision to choose each other again.
I met them outside the St Austell Registry Office on a bright day in May, along with their family and close friends. The atmosphere was relaxed from the start; no pressure, just genuine excitement and happiness to be there.
A Bright, Natural Ceremony Space
The ceremony took place inside the light-filled rooms at St Austell Registry Office, which are ideal for natural, documentary-style photography.
Soft daylight filled the space, allowing everything to unfold naturally. No harsh lighting, no distractions, just real moments as they happened.
Vanessa and Neil kept the ceremony simple and meaningful, surrounded by the people who had been part of their journey over the years.
Relaxed Moments in the Gardens
After the ceremony, we stepped outside into the gardens at St Austell Registry Office for a mix of group photographs and more relaxed portraits.
This part of the day always has a different feel. The formalities are done, everyone starts to relax, and the interactions become more natural.
We kept things easy going with a blend of gently guided shots and candid moments, making sure those key family images were captured without things ever feeling staged.
Charlestown Harbour Wedding Photography
From there, we made our way to Charlestown Harbour, where the setting completely opened up.
Charlestown has a timeless quality to it. The harbour, the boats, and the coastline create a backdrop that feels effortless but incredibly effective for wedding photography.
For Vanessa and Neil, it gave them space to slow things down. Away from the ceremony, away from the group, just a chance to be together and take it all in.
Those quieter moments often end up being the most meaningful.
A Story That Came Full Circle
What really stood out about this wedding was the meaning behind it.
This wasn’t about starting fresh, it was about recognising something that had always been there and choosing it again, with more life experience and understanding behind them.
There’s a calmness to that. A sense of certainty.
And that’s exactly what made their day so special to capture.
